The Wellbeing network
Connecting people is what Wellmoor is all about, and thanks to an Awards for All grant from the National Lottery we’ve been able to start work on developing our Wellbeing Network.
Based on conversations with a range of local groups concerned with wellbeing issues, we have identified a set of common challenges and aspirations. These include problems with funding, communication and reaching people in most need, and a desire to overcome these obstacles. These form the basis of our work within the Network.
Through the Network we aim to get statutory healthcare, community organisations, charities and local groups working together as closely as possible to enable really effective sharing of knowledge, resources and skills. This increases their individual and collective strength, and in turn helps ensure that local people receive a range of joined-up care and support that really meets their needs.
Our present plans for the Network include:
Regular networking opportunities for local organisations;
A regular newsletter digest of relevant current projects, events, training, funding opportunities and initiatives;
A Membership scheme;
Administrative support dedicated to assimilating and distributing information, signposting and actively connecting beneficiaries and the community.
A key part of the Network will be communicating our work and the work of our Members with the public, ensuring that they know what is available to them.
By connecting with both Members and the community, we’ll be adding our voice to the growing conversation about the importance of wellbeing issues.
