Let’s Get Connected was an online social and activity group for people aged 65 and over in the local area, who are socially and/or rurally isolated. With the recent Covid-19 pandemic, social isolation and loneliness, especially amongst the elderly, has risen dramatically. We helped to combat this by establishing an online group that meets weekly for 12 weeks, from August to October 2021. There was group activities led by Devon-based professionals, including singing, gentle chair-based dance, art and creative writing. We have several local organisations on board to lead the activities, including All Dancing and Wren Music.

The sessions were communicated via Zoom, and we helped participants to join the sessions if needed. In some cases we helped people get connected to the internet, including providing them with a mobile-data enabled device.
